This Welcome Oregon sign with Mt hood was hand cut with a scroll saw. It measures roughly 16"x 13". The backer is plywood stained with special walnut. The backer is also sealed for protection.
I love the outdoors. Camping is one of my family’s favorite things to do in the summer. Mt Hood is the largest mountain in Oregon so I thought it would be a good first subject to takle and pair with an oregon cutout. I wanted to carve the ridges of the mountain as authenticly I could. It was a good challenge to help me learn how to use my rotary tool. These trees helped me get to know my saw better and dile in how to rotate the piece just right to get those curves cut. The more I cut, the faster I got.
I see this piece in cozy Oregon cabin where a family can enjoy it for years to come.
